About Amble Development Trust
Formed as a Limited Company in 1994, in response to locally identified issues highlighted through the Civic Trust Regeneration Study, the Trust became a registered charity in late 1995.
 |
The principle mission and objective of the Trust is to regenerate the former coal mining town of Amble by taking a lead in most aspects of economic, social and community regeneration in partnership with other agencies. The aim is to provide the conditions and infrastructure for the restoration of community self-confidence, self esteem and economic prosperity. |
| The Trust's membership currently exceeds three hundred, most of whom are local residents, with a management committee of fourteen trustees. Eight of the trustees are drawn from the membership. Other trustees include councillors representing the town, district and county, a Harbour Commissioner, two Amble business representatives and an Amble's Churches Together representative. |

The Trust has a paid staff of five, based in Amble. The staff make up the operational core of the Trust which is led by Director, Julia Aston.
Julia is pictured here escorting HRH Prince Charles when he and the Duchess of Northumberland visited Amble in June 2012. |
